I am delighted to see that renovation work is taking place on the casino in Ponte a Serraglio.

I have no idea how extensive the work will be, but anything will be an improvement.
Two local artists are holding an exhibition at the Albergo La Corona in Ponte a Seraglio. Morena Guarnaschelli and Deenagh Miller will be showing their work from 30th July until 13th August.
They will have an opening celebration on 30th July from 6.00pm.

I managed to chop off the phone number for the hotel, which is a good thing because it is incorrect. Here is the correct number. 0583 923762.
We were early to arrive at the food fair in Villa Fiori park on Sunday. There were some well set up stalls offering tastings and things to buy.

We put together some delicious delights and made lunch for ourselves as well as buying some things to take home.

There wasn’t a lot of local support while we were there which was a little disappointing. Because of covid there has been nothing much happening for ages and it was nice to see something new happening. I hope it got busier later in the day.
Here is an upcoming happening in Bagni di Lucca.

La Corona hotel, in conjunction with Fiorenzo Consulting, has organised a food fair to be held in the garden of Villa Fiori in Ponte a Serraglio on July 4 from midday until 8.00pm. Lots of local producers will be showing their wares. It sounds like a fun event.

Come along to try local food and wine. It is excellent to see new initiatives in Bagni di Lucca.
I returned from an overnight trip to find the Lima River turned into a raging torrent. Heavy rainfall and melting snow have sent huge amounts of water down the river. The level of the water went from about 1.5metres to 4.7 last night. It has dropped a bit today but it is still rushing past my window carrying logs and other debris with it.

I hope the high water doesn’t cause damage.
For 4 days we get to sit down to enjoy a coffee! I did just that this morning at Bar Italia in Ponte a Serraglio. It is difficult to choose which pastry to have.

Annalisa makes excellent panettone. They are beautifully packaged and will make great Christmas gifts.
After 4 days we go back to red and back to takeaway coffee.
I’m back at Ponte a Serraglio for a while. The stormy weather continues. Today was a mixture of rain, hail, thunder, bits of blue sky…and repeat.
I like the leaves on the footpath.
I have walked past this many times, but not really noticed how lovely it is.
I don’t mind a bit of wet weather and the occasional storm, but this weather has been frightening. I am surprised there is not more damage after these ferocious storms.
