Catene Cafe has had a transformation. The gelato counter has been replaced by delicious pastries.
The grand opening was this evening and the lovely Paolo was in fine form.
The selection of pastries is excellent and we were able to sample quite a few…and they were just as delicious as they look. The girls were mobbed by people wanting to try things.
Good luck Paolo, I hope your new venture is a huge success.
This is good news for the British expats in Bagni di Lucca…you can now get your British supplies from Paolo at Catene Cafe in Fornoli.
You can order online at Richmond’s British Food Shop and your goodies will be sent to Paolo, saving you a trip to Viareggio. He has a few supplies at the cafe.
Call in to see Paolo and he will tell you all about it.
It is no secret that Paolo is one of my favourite Bagni di Luccans. We were all saddened and worried when we learned of his recent accident.
I can happily report that he is back at work and on the mend. His back brace will stay on a bit longer, and he looks a bit battered and bruised, but he should make a full recovery.
Drop in to Catene Cafe in Fornoli and wish him well…and have a coffee or one of his delicious gelati.
