It is no secret that I am a big fan of Paolo Citti. I am delighted that he has opened a new bar and cafe in Fornoli. I am even more pleased that his gelato making is fully operational.
Now the biggest problem is which flavour to have.
I find it difficult to go past nocciola and pistachio, but I was also tempted by chocolate and coconut…life can be molto difficile sometimes.
Say hello to lovely Paolo at Catene Cafe in Fornoli for me next time you go.
I’m drooling Debra! There is nothing quite like Italian ice-cream, and Paolo’s is really special.
…along with Paolo.
He is simply the best!!! I am glad I had the opportunity to take a look in his gelato kitchen so I can ‘try’ making gelato at home!
Paolo makes great gelato. I miss it when I am in Australia.
Limone!!!!! And Mango if you dare. I lived on gelato when I was there!!
In summer I like to have fig gelato.
Yummy 🙂
YUM!
You will have to slip across to Bagni di Lucca to try some.
Oh, if only I could. There are times I long to do my own version of Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Eat, Pray, Love”.
You could do better than that.It is an awful book, full of ridiculous cliches about Italy.
I know, I know. *smiles ruefully* But I did like Gilbert’s basic idea of going outside your comfort zone and doing things that matter most to you.
In Australia I do not eat ice cream. In Italy I eat gelato every day. Nocciola is my favorite
I don’t eat it in Australia either…although today I had the most delicious licorice ice cream at Stokehouse.
I just had some icecream (it is rare, only when it is sunshine, and that is rare), but now I want some more! 😉
You will have to come to Bagni di Lucca. We have sun and Paolo.
Icecream in Italy is a real treat. Paolo’s icecream is superb!
I am very glad he is back in Bagni di Lucca.
Indeed, motto difficile, but I reckon I could have that problem licked in a couple of days.
It is a problem I quite like to have…which flavour.
Can’t wait to get back to Fornoli for a two scoop chocolate and lemon combination. Delicious!
Have a caramel fig for me if Paolo is making it…too delicious.
Oh dear Debra, I know how delicious Italian ice creams… How I missed now 🙂 Thank you, love, nia
