Santa at Bar Italia
Santa has arrived in his sleigh at Bar Italia in Ponte a Serraglio.
Christmas delights at Ponte a Serraglio
Ponte a Serraglio is very lucky to have a wonderful fruit and vegetable shop owned and run by the lovely Piera. She and her husband come from Sicily where they still have a farm.
This Christmas they have selected some delicious treats from Sicliy to sell in their tiny shop. It is now brimming with great Christmas gifts or special things for feasts with friends and family.
Of course they still have their regular supply of excellent fruit and vegetables.
Christmas is not far away!
Nativity at Ponte a Serraglio
Thanks to Suzanna, Dome and Farah we have a beautiful nativity scene in the old kiosk in the piazza at Ponte a Serraglio.
In this strange year it is nice to see some traditional things happening
Babbo Natale
Babbo Natale will be making appearances in Bagni di Lucca soon.
Fornoli
Villa Web will be Babbo Natale central on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th December.
Not to be missed is the Babbo Natale run.

Merry Christmas from Ponte a Serraglio
Susanna from Bar Italia, with help from her friend Dome has created a beautiful Presepe in the old news kiosk beside the river.
It looks wonderful. I wish I was there to see it.

A Christmas concert
There will be a Christmas concert at Teatro Accademico in La Villa on 20th December at 9.15pm.
Santa in Bagni di Lucca
A weekend of Santa fun is coming to Bagni di Lucca.
Let’s hope the weather if good for the Santa walk. Christmas is coming.
Events in Bagni di Lucca
On Saturday there will be a talk and video at the Sala Rosa at Circolo dei Forestieri in La Villa on Saturday 1st December at 5pm. Admission is free.
Here is a chance to see the inside of the lovely casino building…another free event. The dance will be on Saturday 8th December at 9.00pm. Phone the number on the poster to book a table.
Walking Presepe in Montefegatesi 9th December.
Christmas is coming to La Villa on 15th and 16th December. See Santa’s house, the Santa walk and the market.

Babbo Natale
This year in Bagni di Lucca a wonderful team has created La Casa Di Babbo Natale in Villa Web, the villa famous for its part time resident, Lord Byron. My friend Paola kindly visited to take some photos so that we can all see Santa’s house.
Walk up from La Villa, past the Terme, and up to Villa Web.
Open the front door…
Santa was out, probably discussing travel arrangements with his helpers and getting the toys sorted. His chair was waiting for his return.
Santa’s green helpers were on hand to show Paola around.
Santa’s bedroom looked comfortable and inviting. He needs his rest before the big day.
The fire was alight, waiting for Santa’s return.
The kitchen is looking festive and the table is set ready for Christmas.
There is a desk where children can sit to write letters to Santa. Several years ago we visited Santa’s home in Finland where we saw the post office where their letters arrive. There are more letters from Italian children than from other countries.
Paola took a look a Santa’s list. I’m sure our names will be on it.
