Montefegatesi is the highest of the Bagni di Lucca villages. Autumn colour is a bit late this year, but it won’t be far off.
The views from the village are excellent.
We walked up to the top of the top of the village, starting at the tiny church in the lower piazza.

On Monday 4th November there will be a Commemoration for the deaths in all wars. Everyone is invited to attend.
Lucky Casoli has its own restaurant. We visited on an autumn Sunday.
It was quite warm outside but the fire was on inside, making a lovely welcome.
The room is charmingly decorated.
We chose pasta fritta as a shared antipasti.
A delicious, large serve of lasagna followed.
…and porchetta with a side of potato chips.
In warmer months there are tables available outside, offering views over the mountains.
A short walk after lunch showed us a little of the entrance to Casoli.

Ponte a Serraglio has an excellent preloved homewares shop run by Auser. I am constantly surprised by the range and quality of the items on offer. The hand crocheted table cloth in the first photo is now mine.
The goods are all donated and the proceeds go to people who need a bit of help.

The market is on today in Ponte a Serraglio. Only 3 stalls again. There is some good home grown produce.
The newly opened piazza in Bagni di Lucca Villa has been put to good use today for the flea market. It was a beautiful autumn day, perfect to enjoy a browse and perhaps find a treasure to buy.
It is great to be back in beautiful Ponte a Serraglio, my little part of Bagni di Lucca. Come for a walk along the river.
