The living nativity in Pieve di Monti di Villa was a great success. Lots of people attended and got into the spirit of things. I was unable to attend as I am currently in Australia, but luckily my friends Teri and Charlotte were there and took some photos.
Valerio Ceccarelli also captured the event.

It is wonderful to see so many people take part and to see a crowd of people enjoying the event. These local festivals are a delightful part of life in the villages of Bagni di Lucca…long may they continue.

A lovely tradition which keeps the comunity together.
Lovely to see the traditional village events still being upheld.

Hi – I’m a recent blog follower as BdL is on my list of potential places to buy and move to. I’ve seen a house in this village but they tell you so little and I can’t find anything on whether this is very remote or if it has a small village shop for basics. Thank you so much for any info.
Pieve di Monte di Villa is a small village about a 10 – 15 minute drive uphill from the bigger villages along the river. It no longer has a shop but there is a Refugio (type of restaurant) which is open in the evening. It is a very pretty village with great views over the mountains. There is a school bus a couple of times a day.
