Acacia and chestnut blossoms are appearing on trees all around us. The acacia is a bit late this year because of the rain and the cooler than usual weather.
Hopefully soon the air will be filled with the delicious honey like smell of these pretty white flowers.
I know they are weeds, but the bees like them.
The chestnut blossoms stand like proud decorations on the beautiful trees. These are horse chestnut flowers, the real chestnut trees bloom a bit later.
As well as looking beautiful, the blossoms provide nectar for the bees to make honey. The whole area is famous for its delicious, pure honey….lucky us.
Look out for some local honey while you are in Bagni di Lucca. There are lots of small producers in the villages of Bagni di Lucca.
Great!
How beautiful spring flowers… fascinated me and toke me into my childhood memories… Thank you dear Debra, with my love, nia
The acacia makes me sneeze, but it is very beautiful.
Have you ever tried chestnut honey drizzled over fresh local ricotta? It’s amazing!!!!!!

You are a fountain of knowledge Debra!! Nothing says summer like the perfume of those flowers. I know what you mean.
The air smells like delicious honey right now.
Sounds perfect Debra. It hasn’t stopped raining all day in Melbourne. I’m having some serious thoughts….;-)
It is about to rain here again. I hope we get good weather in Amsterdam.
I do love this time of the year in Italy. The air smells so sweet! Lovely photos as always.
It is a beautiful time of year. Roses are growing everywhere. They seem to pop out overnight.

Is the honey exported? Nectar from such fragile beauty has to be special.
I’m sure you could buy Italian honey in USA.
