Puccini’s women

At 6.30pm on 29th November in the Sala Rosa at Circolo dei Forestieri will be the inauguration of an art exhibition of 50 art works relating to the women in Puccini’s life, his personal life and the characters in his operas. The paintings and sculpture are by local, national and international and student artists.

A dinner will follow at 8.00pm at the Circolo dei Forestieri. There will be a pianist, a violinist and a soprano performing Puccini’s music.

The event has been organised by the Borgo degli Artisti.

Lunch in Casoli

Lucky Casoli has its own restaurant. We visited on an autumn Sunday.

It was quite warm outside but the fire was on inside, making a lovely welcome.

The room is charmingly decorated.

We chose pasta fritta as a shared antipasti.

A delicious, large serve of lasagna followed.

…and porchetta with a side of potato chips.

In warmer months there are tables available outside, offering views over the mountains.

A short walk after lunch showed us a little of the entrance to Casoli.
