Lofty Lucchio Posted on May 6, 2014 by Debra Kolkka Just in case you didn’t believe me when I told you Lucchio clings like a limpet to the side of a mountain, take a look at this view. The photo was taken from the Popiglio side of Lucchio, on the road to Abetone. Lucchio looks great from any angle. Share this:TwitterFacebookMoreEmailPinterestPrintLinkedInLike this:Like Loading... Never been to Lucchio or Popiglio but hopefully we’re going to both in the summer, thanks to your blog. Great Photo. A limpet if ever there was one! Reply ↓
Lucchio is a great village to visit, as is Popiglio. Watch for a very narrow part of the road in the middle of Popiglio between 2 houses. Reply ↓
Yes, it is an amazing sight. As the village has been built with local stone, it blends into the landscape. Great photos, Debra! Reply ↓
Wonderful subject, beautiful light and and a wonderful photo, Deb. Brava! I hope your new camera is behaving better. I love the results. Reply ↓
It is an interesting village to see. We spent some time wandering through on another occasion. Reply ↓
I’m constantly amazed at how people could build such stone structures in precarious places without the more sophisicated equipment builders have nowadays. Love the photos! Reply ↓
Great photo =)
Thank you. It was a bit hazy, so it is not as clear as it might be on a better day.

From a distance, the village looks like it is part of a mountain.
It blends in very well.

There are not many people living in Lucchio any more. I hope they get some new residents.
Such a nice village. Incredible. Don’t fall down… 😉
The laneways through the village are quite steep in parts.
Another one to add to our list of places to explore!
Yes, don’t miss Lucchio.
