The Teatro Accademico in La Villa was full on Saturday night. Everyone came to hear the music of Giuseppe Verdi…the name sounds so much more exotic than Joe Green…don’t you think?
We were greeted by 2 very well dressed gentlemen.
The seats soon filled up and the curtains parted.
There were some lovely performances.
I know absolutely nothing about Verdi’s music, so I suggest you click here to read much more about him and the performances on From London to Longoio.
Thanks Debra for referring the rest to me – I trust you enjoyed your stinco sagra at Filecchio!
Your knowledge is far greater than mine. I did enjoy the stinco…there will be photos.
It was a lovely evening, indeed. Great performances, a beautiful theatre with an enthusiastic public enjoying themselves… a real credit to the organizers! Culture in Bag I do Lucca is alive and doing very well.
It was great to see so many people out enjoying themselves.
Great photos Debra. You do so well with your photography
The lighting was a bit difficult, but it is a pretty little theatre.
That sounds like it was a wonderful evening – I wonder whether there will be anything on when we’re there in the middle of the month? Do you know if there’s a website with a programme of events?
There are things happening all the time. If you look at the Proloco and Turismo links on the right of the blog you should find some of the evnts that will be on. Don’t miss the archery competition which should be on 16th June. I will post details if I can find them.
Beautiful, I have limited knowledge of Opera, but love it anyway. LOL
I have no knowledge, and enjoy it in small doses.
