I don’t usually take part in the WordPress weekly photo challenge, but I couldn’t pass this one up as green is my favourite colour and I have this lovely collection of green doors that I have found all over Bagni di Lucca.
I love the wonderful old doorways in the villages of Bagni di Lucca……especially the green ones.
I think I will have to paint my door green.
We’re in the process of buying an apartment in Bagni di Lucca, hoping to complete at the end of January – and it’s got a green door! Love the photos – a great selection
Lucky you…..an apartment in Bagni di Lucca…..and a green door.
All those green doors in one place? how exciting. I loved all the photos
I con’t think I have even scratched the surface with green doors. There are 25 villages that make up Bagni di Lucca and I have yet to visit some of them.
Beautiful collection, Debra!
Thank you…I know there are more out there waiting for me.
love Bagni di Lucca! 🙂
There is much to love.
Nature and time have turned them into works of art…..you captured them!!!
Let’s hope nobody repaints them.
Beautiful! I have always loved doors as well. There is something about them that sparks the imagination .
It is always tempting to open them and go inside to see what is there.
Fantastic set of images
Thank you, I had fun collecting them
Reblogged this on The Legion of Door Whores and commented:
Green doors and lots of them
great challenge, and a great set of doors.
I have been collecting photos of green doors for a while now, so it was a good opportunity to do the post.
Oh Debra, you have no idea how much this post excites me! I love OLD and WORN wooden doors. Green does seem to be a popular colour here in the villages. Susan x
I love the old wooden doors too, they have so much character.
I agree. What a fantastic collection of photos. I really like the narrow door with short horizontal planks and the arched doorways. It looks like a really stunning part of the world… *adds it to wishlist*.
I love wandering in the villages of Bagni di Lucca. There are so many things to discover.
Wonderful green doors, Debra!
Lots of 😉
I had fun collecting the photos on my walks around the villages of Bagni di Lucca.
I love these wonderful photos – the older and more worn doors look as though they would tell much.
I love the really old ones. I would love to know just how old some of them are.
This is one of the loveliest collections of doors that I’ve ever seen.
Thank you, Bagni di Lucca is full of lovely things.
my favorite: bagni di lucca, the one with the cat!
He was a cute cat.

l love this post. You’ve taken lots of lovely pictures there. When I look at those doors the first thing I think is that I recognise some of them ( or at least i’ve convinced myself I do!).
Some of them are encrusted with layers of green paint applied over the years; it makes you think about the owners and the lives they’ve lead, the changing seasons in Bagni. If I look hard enough I can still see the bright light of summer shining on them. Bagni is a beautiful place; probably quite still now compared to the hustle and bustle of summer, but so many people who are away will be looking forward to returning to enjoy it all once again. Ideally if we were over there now we’d go into Bagni at lunchtime, buy some newspapers at the kiosk in Ponte, and have cappucini at Il Monaco, then stroll to the park in La Villa, followed by lunch at Borghese (forgive the spelling if incorrect!). Then into Lucca to walk/cycle around the walls and city followed by an emergency slice of pizza and an espresso. Then when a suitable appetite has been obtained on to dinner at Del Sono or Mamo mmmmm.
You have described a pretty good Bagni di Lucca day there. When I go back in January it will be very wintery indeed, but I love that too.

Brilliant, you need to add music from Shakin!!!! Only problem is you’ve made us homesick for Brandeglio so checking up Ryanair! Next time you’re there knock on either of our green doors and see us if we’re in!
This week’s photo challenge has been great fun. I’ve never really thought about the green side of Portugal beyond plants and trees but a quick rummage through my folders has turned up quite a few unusual greens. I hope you enjoy them.
Just spotted the door to our lovely home in Vico Pancellorum amongst your photos. In wet Ireland at the moment looking forward to our next visit to beautiful Vico. Great photos.
Vico Pancellorum is a lovely village. It is wet and a bit miserable here today too, but it will be better soon.
