In summer, the beautiful swimming pools open in La Villa, the main village in Bagni di Lucca. The water is crystal clear and the views from the swimming area are stunning.
It is a great place to be on a hot, sunny day.
It costs €6.50 to enter the pool and you will need a bathing cap. (prices may change, this is what I was quoted the day I went)
There is a covered pool in winter with warm water from the springs, just what you need on a cold winter day.
The pool is behind La Villa on the way to Villa Ada at the end of Via Evangelina Whipple and is open from 9.00 am until 7.00pm.

The entrance fee is now €8. After 3.30pm it is €6.50
wow!
It is stunning isn’t it?
what a beautiful view… Thanks and Love, nia
It was the first time I had been to the pool in summer. I was amazed.
Reblogged this on From a Tuscan Villa and commented:
Bagni di Lucca has a fantastic public open air swimming pool, now open for the summer. Here’s Debra’s photos from her brilliant blog Bella Bagni di Lucca which is a great source of information and inspiration about our great little Tuscan spa town.
Thank you for doing that.
This pool is gorgeous. I am so happy you wrote about it! Great Debra! Hugs!
It is a great looking pool.
great info, thanks! 🙂
You will have to go there to try it.
Looks totally refreshing!
Doesn’t it make you want to jump in?
I’m grabbing my beach towel, flip-flops, suit and sunscreen, and heading there right now!
It would be easy to spend a day there, in and out of the water.
What a lovely place to spend a warm summer afternoon.
It is a delightful place to be on a lovely summer day.
SO AMAZING! I WANT TO BE THERE!!!!
It is an amazing pool, so clean and sparkling.
It is a lovely complex. We were given a “guided tour” last year and we found it terrific. The surroundings are gorgeous and it is a real luxury to have a winter pool with warm spring water. Rafael prefers to go for a swim in the river, as he only has to go down the path at the side of the mill, as it was pointed out in one of your previous posts, but I think that the pool is a great feature for Bag I do Lucca. No need to go to the beach, even if it is only a pleasant drive away. Besides, in the middle of a hot summer, temperatures are always cooler in Bag I. And we can sleep at night!!!
I have never seen the summer pool open before as I am not usually in Bagni in the summer. I was very impressed.
This is a wonderful surprise Debra….The views I can imagine, the pools look so chic. Glamour from another era!
It is a bit 50s or 60s glamour isn’t it? I love it!
Stunning to say the least.
It is an amazing pool for a relatively small village. Somebody had a vision at one time.
Wow, I think this beats out our local public pool, McCarren Park Pool. Will try to visit your town in summer so my family can swim in this gorgeous pool!!
It is a fabulous setting isn’t it? Bagni di Lucca is lucky to have such a gorgeous pool.

Thank you very much for this great post.I wish I knew about this pool when I was visiting Bagni di Lucca this year. Is it opened only in summer – from the end of June to around the end of September?
Are they using there the water from thermal springs? Is it pretty warm, not chlorinated?
The views from this pool are indeed amazing. It seems like a great place to swim.
The pool is a public swimming pool, so I’m sure they have to treat the water, but it is a beautiful pool with an incredible view. The open air pool is open only in the summer. The date depends a little on the weather, but it is usually open by mid June. I am not sure of the closing time.
Thank you for this information. I will certainly check this pool out if I will ever be able to visit this area during summer months.

What a beautiful setting.
The pool is stunning…an amazing view.
What a great day! Fabulous pool with lovely people too! Went with my husband and two young teens who once they got over the whole bathing cap drama had a great time. Highly recommended visiting on a hot day!
It is a beautiful pool. I’m pleased you had s great day.
I’m staying in Barga in two weeks. Will the swimming pool be open in September?
Thanks,
Sarah
I think the closing date may depend on the weather. I would suggest calling the phone number at the bottom of the post when you arrive in Barga. I am not currently in Bagni di Lucca, otherwise I could check for you.
The covered pool is open all year.
There is another pool at Gallicano, which is on the other side of the river from Barga.
Hi Does anyone know if you can get a ticket for the week for the pool at a cheaper rate t. I have three children and I think they will want to go every day. Thank you
