On Sunday the local raft groups raced each other from Chifenti, where the Lima River meets the Serchio River, to the gorgeous Ponte della Maddelena.
I missed the race, but Montefegatesi photographer David Bonaventura was on hand to get get some great photos.
It looked like a fun day despite the less than perfect weather. I think the boys in the white raft won.

Rafting is becoming increasingly popular. It is great to see people enjoying themselves ,particularly.over the weekend. We use to watch them from the mill, going down from Fabricche di Casabasciana on the Torrente Lima. It looks as if from Chifenti to the Ponte della Maddalena the waters are calmer than through our sector.
I think it is great to see new activities on the river. The race was to be on the Lima, but the water is a bit low right now.
