The annual spring walk around Bagni di Lucca will take place on Monday 2nd April. You can either walk 2, 4, 10, 18 or 20 kilometres, beginning in Fornoli. You can begin the walk between 7.30am and 8.30am.
This is a fun way to see a different side of Bagni di Lucca. Get a group of friends together and chose your walk. Refreshments are provided along the way and the tracks are well marked.

This sounds great and we’re in Lucca. Would it be easy to join if we are not “locals”?
Yes, you don’t have to be a local to join the walk. Just be there and register. I think there is a small fee, but I am not sure how much.
There is a train from Lucca to Bagni di Lucca which stops at Fornoli, but being a public holiday there won’t be a lot of trains.
Thanks! We’d have a car. Do you have a sense of whether this is serious hiking? Lots of elevation change, etc? How long does it take people to complete the 20km route?
It is a fun event, not serious hiking. Lots of people participate. I have only done the shorter walk, so I am not sure how long it would take to do the 20 kilometres.
There is some uphill walking, but I don’t think it is too strenuous.
