I love it when wisteria appears in spring. It seems to bloom overnight and there are fabulous festoons of lovely lilac flowers hanging from fences and walls all over Bagni di Lucca right now.
I love wisteria and not just because it is my favourite colour. I tried to buy my own plants here a few years ago but was told by my local nursery that you cannot grow it in Qld. Now my friends here are growing it successfully so it is time for me to try growing my own. Your photos are beautiful
Just remember when planting Glicine, It becomes stronger than what is supporting it. It can easily break arbors and fences. But, if done correctly, worth the trouble.
Absolutely lovely!
Absolutely lovely! Wonderful photography, Debra!
Thank you. I think wisteria is just gorgeous.
I bet it’s heavenly outside my kitchen window
Yours is not quite in full bloom. I will send you a photo when it is.
Beautiful photos, Debra. I trust that the flowers will last until my arrival!
They come in stages. At Casa Debbio we just have buds so far.
It’s amazing to think that wysteria (or glicine in Italian) is a member of teh humblepea family.
Peas are not humble! I love peas.
I love wisteria….wish I had smell-o-vision!
I wish I could send the perfume to you. It is heavenly.

Thank you Barbara
Brisbane is a bit humid, but you should certainly try.
Those are cracking photos – I could almost touch the Wisteria. It brings Bagni a bit closer and thats a good thing.
The flowers are stunning. I wish they lasted longer. Our wisteria at Casa Debbio will come later as we are higher above sea level.
How utterly glorious!
Aren’t flowers amazing?
Heavenly photography, Debra! Could virtually smell the flowers…..hmmmmm….
The perfume is delicious.
What beautiful photos. I’ve never seen wisteria. Do they have a scent?
They have a delightful perfume and the bees love them.
!!!!!!! I love these flowers!!! Just like the crazy flower trees, I got nuts for the wisteria too!! BEAUTIFUL!
I always get excited by wisteria sightings.
Glorious Deb.

I seriously need more wisteria in my life. Thanks for the beautiful photos!
Nature’s curtains! Superb!!!
Great photos! You’ve captured the true beauty of these cascading blooms! Is the wisteria yours? It sure is easy to take care for one. If you don’t know a lot about it, you can find out here: http://www.sparkles-and-crumbs.com/2015/01/12/lets-run-away-monday-a-magical-wisteria-tunnel-in-japan/
That wisteria was not mine, but I do grow it at Casa Debbio, our house in the mountains near Lucca.
