Last night at the lovely Teatro Accademico there was a delightful evening of music. Songs by Puccini, Verdi, Mascagni, Bizet, Rossini and others were performed by some very talented people.
The event was well attended.
The singers were…
Valentina Boi, a soprano with an exquisite voice.
Laura Brioli, mezzosoprano.
Angelo Fiore, tenor.
Franco Rossi, baritone, shown here delivering a rousing rendition of The Barber of Seville.
They were accompanied by Laura Pasqualetti on the piano.
It was a very enjoyable evening. If you missed it there will be another on 12th April. I will remind you at a later date.
Looks like a great evening….glad to see the theatre being used and these events well patronised.
Quite a bit happens at the theatre. We just have to remember to keep an eye out for the events.
If music be the food of love play on – a lovely program
It was a very entertaining evening. The singers were excellent, as was the pianist.
This sounds lovely! I’ll mark it on my calendar.
We can go together.
These evenings are great! Unfortunately, we missed it. Thank you for sharing it with us, Debra!
It is good to see the music events well attended.
Do you like opera ?
Yes, you do or try do it.
Next performance, next chance : Sunday 12 april 2015, Same place, the lovely old theater, la “Scala” di Bagni di Lucca Villa. Orario molto piacevole, 16.30h ( !). Performance of IL TRITTICO, rather unknown but beautiful opera di Giacomo Puccini, who was living and composing for some time at Bagni di Lucca.
The 4.30pm timeslot is very good. I look forward to the next event.
It certainly was a great night. I was there too. and completely agree with Debra about the best singer.
She was very good, I hope we see her again.
I do like opera….my father used to translate the arias for me….obviously the music is wonderful, but some of the lyrics are truly moving as well. Lovely post.
What a lovely evening….love your photos!
