I see Livio regularly in Ponte a Serraglio, La Villa and Fornoli with his trolley and his birch broom.
He looks after us very well, keeping our streets clean.
I admired his birch broom one day and he very kindly offered it to me. His job would be great on a fine sunny day, but not so much fun on cold, windy ones.
Say hello to Livio next time you see him, he likes a chat.
A man with very important job. I hope he’s happy!
He was happy when I printed the photo and gave it to him. I think it is great that he still uses a birch broom.
I know. You even see street sweepers in the capital using them. There must be more to them than meets the eye….
They look much better than the plastic ones and I guess you can just go out and find a new one when you need it.
And Livio is also a very simpathetic man!
He is! He has a sense of humour and is happy to talk.
I know him well – he is lovely – he made us laugh when, some time ago, a whole group of us wanted our photo taken, so i asked if he would be so kind… he said sure and joined our crowd to have his pic taken with us…. 🙂
I can see him doing that.
We always say hello to him, but we did not know that his name is Livio. Thank you, Debra.
You will be able to call him by name next time.
Nice tribute – and you also reminded my of a kind uncle … one with a first name Livio. (but here in the US, he went by his middle name).
He was delighted to have his photo taken.
